Bio
Kai was born in Heidelberg and grew up in Meckesheim. He began studying Chemistry at Heidelberg University in 2019 and completed his bachelor’s thesis in 2023 in the research group of Prof. Dr. Mastalerz, focusing on functionalized triptycene Kobayashi–Arin precursor synthesis.
During his master’s studies, Kai worked as a student research assistant (HiWi) and completed several research internships at Heidelberg University, as well as an internship at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile with Prof. Dr. Rene Rojas. He is now pursuing his master’s thesis under Prof. Dr. Delius at the University of Ulm on nanohoop-phosphoramidite ligands for catalysis. Outside the lab, Kai enjoys running, cycling, and fitness.
