Mark completed both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Tübingen, Germany. His Master’s thesis, titled “Dual Guest Encapsulation and Quantitative Uptake Analysis in a Water-Stable Covalent Organic Cage”, was conducted under the supervision of Professor Florian Beuerle. His research focused on advanced topics in chemistry, particularly in the field of molecular materials and host–guest chemistry.
He is currently pursuing a PhD focusing on the synthesis and application of fluorinated cyclohexane derivatives. His research aims to develop novel fluorinated molecules for use in next-generation battery technologies, contributing to the advancement of energy storage materials with improved performance, stability, and efficiency.
In his free time, he enjoys cycling, reading, and cooking.
