Bio

Markus was born in Rottenburg am Neckar, near Tübingen. He pursued his chemistry studies at the University of Ulm, where he completed his bachelor’s thesis in the Delius group, focusing on strained porphyrinylene nanohoops. For his master’s thesis, he continued his work in the field of macrocycles, specifically aiming to synthesize a BINOL catenane. Currently, his research centers on the synthesis of chiral BINOL-derived nanohoop architectures. Outside the lab, Markus enjoys spending time with friends, exploring new cuisines through cooking, and traveling to new places.
